Just below the village of Montalcino in the northern heart of the region, the vineyards of Casanuova delle Cerbaie are located about 350 meters above sea level on land dating back to the Eocene period characterized by limestone, marl, clay and conglomerate rocks. The prevailing north-west exposure gives the vineyards the privilege of being caressed by sunlight during the day and enjoying the north winds that ensure perfect ventilation throughout much of the year.
The estate covers 15 hectares of land, of which about 10 hectares of vineyards registered with Sangiovese, 2 of olive groves and 3 between woods and arable land. The vineyards are all located in the north of Montalcino within a few km from the production cellar, extending up to the prestigious hill of Montosoli. The peculiarity of the land and the enviable location, allow to obtain wines of exceptional quality and strong personality: fragrant, elegant, fine, rigorous and extraordinarily long-lived.
Every phase of the work, from the first selection of grapes in the vineyard to the scrupulous sorting carried out before entering the winery, is completely manual. The yield, kept around 40 q/ha, results in a final production of about 35-40 thousand bottles per year.
